Dr. Boven is a graduate from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. After finishing medical school, he completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at William Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oak, where he served as chief resident in his fourth year. He then completed the Michigan State University Interventional Spine and Pain Management Fellowship.

Dr. Boven is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

In addition to practicing general Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, his special interests include acute pain management, musculoskeletal ultrasound for therapeutic interventions, orthopedic rehabilitation, and interventional spine procedures including epidural steroid injections, sacroiliac joint and facet injections, and radiofrequency ablations.

Dr. Boven is on staff at William Beaumont Hospital in both Royal Oak and Troy.
