Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

A 2004 graduate of Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Patel completed his internship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Then, he completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine residency at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. He served as chief resident in his final year. After residency, he completed an ACGME-accredited Pain Fellowship through the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the International Spine Intervention Society.

His special interests include acute pain management, musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, orthopedic rehabilitation, and interventional spine procedures including epidural steroid injection and radiofrequency ablation.

Dr. Patel is on staff at William Beaumont Hospital in both Royal Oak and Troy. He currently holds the position of Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Musculoskeletal Course at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. 

Dr. Patel has office hours for patient care at the Troy office.
