Martin Tamler, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Locally, Dr Tamler is currently the Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services, Director of Subacute Rehabilitation, Director of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Director of Orthotics and Prosthetics. He previously served as the PM&R Residency Program Director at Beaumont for 12 years.

Nationally, Dr Tamler has served as an oral examiner for the Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He was also a member of the Association of Academic Physiatrists Program Directors committee, serving on its Goals & Objectives Task Force. He has also volunteered on several committees for the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

A graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington and the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Dr. Tamler completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Dr. Tamler is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Michigan Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Michigan State Medical Society and the Oakland County Medical Society. In addition, he is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society at Indiana University.

Dr. Tamler has authored a book about Fibromyalgia in addition to many articles and chapters in the physical medicine literature, and has received multiple first place ribbons for his presentations at the Annual Assembly of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Tamler is on staff at William Beaumont Hospital in both Royal Oak and Troy. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He cares for patients on the Orthopedic Rehabilitation Unit and serves as the Rehabilitation Consultant at Evergreen Health and Living Center.
